do it yourself

Most tenement flats in Edinburgh have cupboards set into the thickness of the walls, ours has bookshelves in it. After a year of talking about it, we finally made a tv stand to fit in the nook! First we used SketchUp to draw the nook, and design around the bits of kit that have to sit in it,

Then we went to a very helpful timber yard off Leith Walk with the measurements. The whole lot of timber and battens, cut to size, cost under £30. Plus one taxi ride. After three days of a sawdust covered kitchen, our new bespoke tv stand was born!

We are soooo good at diy.
